Scariest Halloween Moment

This is what I woke up to this morning.

Bubba came running in with a small pumpkin with every hidden knife we own rammed forcefully through its core. Look mom! Daddy will be happy. And then after I explained that daddy would not, in fact, be happy, he shrugged off my concern with, It's OK mom, I am old enough to play with knives now.

I remained calm and explained why he will never be old enough to play with knives if I have any say about it. The Prozac must be working, because I did not obsess about what could've happened.

Time to find a new place to hide the knives.

OHHHH...

I had to share this with several people here at home. My husband D says all the knives have to go. You can use a plastic spork for everything and buy your meat pre-cut.

Yeah, he's really funny.

But my heart skipped a few beats there, reading your post. I think D jokes about stuff because oh... what else can you do sometimes??

What was dad's reaction at YOUR house?

Oh my. Did the pumpkin deserve it at least?

OMG, having just tried to cut a small pumpkin today, that sight scares me a lot! My knife slipped and skittered and I cannot even begin to imagine one of our kids trying that. No wonder you call it your scariest Halloween moment!

And, what *did* his Daddy have to say about it??

Daddy was not proud, but not surprised. Like father like son is all I've got to say about that. Based on all of the stories I've heard about Hubby's childhood mishaps, Bubba's most shocking has yet to come....
