Bubba set a rectangle-shaped box on Grandpa's workbench, and Grandpa, not wanting that particular box on his workbench, said something to the effect of "You can't put things taller than this [gesture] on my workbench." Bubba, not wanting to upset Grandpa immediately turned the box sideways while saying in a slightly scared voice, "Sorry Grandpa."
It made me happy that my dad did not recognize this as the response of a smart ass, but as the response of a child who processes things just a little differently.
